Widely considered a trendsetting master, Hans van Manen is one of those choreographers who managed to increase the popular appeal of modern ballet by fusing classical ballet with modern dance. He was a pioneer of those dancers – most of them starting their careers in the 1960s – who generated the synthesis of academic and progressive forms of movement which has by now become a well-established mode of expression.
An event jointly organized with Hungarian State Opera.
