Újabb egyedi produkcióval invitálja a közönséget a Cziffra Fesztivál: a Bajnokok ligája című kétrészes sorozattal. Az első koncerten a jazz és a népzene kiválóságai állnak egy színpadra, olykor meglepő, eddig még nem hallott formációban.

Lelkem újra ünnepi fényben tündököl. Tisztelettel és szeretettel
hívom a közönséget egy felemelő, meghitt koncertre, ahol
zenémet ajándékként adom át, virtuális szalaggal átkötve, mosollyal, jókedvvel
fűszerezve…, dalokká nemesítve mindazt, amit szavakkal nehéz elmondani.

Jazzbois first burst onto the scene at the 2017 Müpa Budapest Jazz Showcase. By 2023, they were hosting Kaláka as guests at the Festival Theatre, and, a couple of years later, they were conquering major international festivals: the Leverkusener Jazztage, the Montreux Jazz Festival, Jazz à Vienne, and the Montreal Jazz Festival, to name but a few. Jamie Cullum also dedicated an entire BBC radio show to the band, including a conversation with Viktor Sági.

For Hungarian audiences, Okvsho is more than just one of the most promising and exciting bands on the vibrant European jazz scene.

It has been a long time since we thought of Cécile McLorin Salvant as merely the promising winner of the 2010 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition. Her expressive voice capable of conveying profound emotions and refined sentiments, her virtuoso improvisation, and her brave, experimental combinations of styles have now come to represent a point of reference to a new generation.

Michael Mayo’s family legacy and natural talent paved the way for him to blossom as an artist and eventually achieve global fame. As the third vocalist to graduate from the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance, he has worked alongside the institute’s founder, Herbie Hancock, as well as with Kneebody, Christian Sands and Gretchen Parlato.

The importance of the Blue Note record company can hardly be overstated. The famous blue note-labeled albums recorded the pioneers of bebop after 1945, and then the defining small-band recordings of the hard bop era – these have become the eternal high points of jazz. The soloists of the Modern Art Orchestra, starting from the recordings of the first great era, relive the moments recorded on the blue-and-white label records.

Bognár Szilvia Prima díjas énekesnő a hazai népzenei-világzenei élet kiváló, szeretett szólistája évtizedek óta. Bár eddigi pályafutása során csupán egyszer ünnepelte születésnapját nyilvános koncert alkalmával, most ritka kivételt tesz: születésnapi koncertet hirdet. De ahogy fogalmaz: „ez még nem felezőbuli!” Persze minek is ragaszkodni egy kerek évszámhoz, ha az este zeneileg, lelkileg, emberileg is egészen kivételes alkalomnak ígérkezik.

Many people were surprised when, after a successful two-year streak during which they won the A38 talent competition known as Talentométer and conquered stages across Europe, including Müpa Budapest, makrohang split up. They then caused another, more pleasant surprise with the news in 2023 that they would be reviving what they themselves call their “jazz for metalheads” sound.

Miles Davis, one of the most recognisable figures in jazz history, would have celebrated his hundredth birthday in 2026. To mark the occasion, a star trumpet player in the world of contemporary jazz, Ambrose Akinmusire, has come together with the Brussels Jazz Orchestra to embark on a joint tour, honour the giant of the genre, pay tribute to his legacy, and go beyond it by creating new works and inventive arrangements that reimagine the Miles Davis’s genius in the context of modern jazz.

The Jamaican-born, New York-raised pianist Wynton Kelly (1931–1971) rose to global fame playing with Wes Montgomery and as a member of the Miles Davis Quintet, all while creating timeless recordings with his own trio.
