CONDUCTOR

Gábor Takács-Nagy rose to fame as a violinist and as the founder of the world-class string quartet that bears his name. He is currently a professor of chamber music and conducting in Switzerland, and he is actively conducting. His ars poetics as a conductor is to bring classical pieces to life in the way they were presumably performed in the composer's time. Driven by this aspiration, he has recently recorded all of Beethoven's symphonies. In this concert, he will pay tribute to the immortal master with two of his works. Alexander Malofeev , a Russian guest musician, will be the soloist of the highly virtuosic and challenging piano concerto composed by the greatest Russian composers of the 20th century, Sergei Prokofiev. At the age of 13, Malofeev won the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians in Moscow and has since toured the world, giving concerts to great acclaim.

Our offer

Az Angyalföldi Vadrózsa Táncegyüttes és utánpótlás csoportjainak 2023/2024-es évadzáró gálaműsora.

This performance featuring a polished ensemble of Mozartian singers marks the Met debut of the talented young but already globally recognised German maestra Joana Mallwitz on the conductor's podium.

The subject matter is far from the only thing that promises to make this performance of Offenbach's last work for the stage so fantastic, as we will get to hear some wonderful singers when Bartlett Sher's captivating 2009 production of Tales of Hoffmann returns to the Met's series of HD transmissions.
