Gounod’s French grand opera has been an indispensable element of any self-respecting opera company’s repertoire, and to this day remains among the most frequently performed operas. The composer's aim was not an operatic adaptation of Goethe’s masterpiece. Born from the libretto by Jules Barbier and Michel Carré was a perfumed and smoky drama spiced with elements of romance and horror, as well as gothic motifs: a story of romance, the supernatural, religion, and the eternal battle against satanic powers.

Nabuccot, a babiloni királyt Kálmándy Mihály Kossuth-díjas operaénekes, a Halhatatlanok Társulatának örökös tagja alakításában láthatja a közönség 2026-ban is. A magyar bariton már pályája kezdetén, a kolozsvári Gh. Dima Zeneakadémia hallgatójaként Verdi Nabuccójának címszerepével debütált. Később a Teatro Verdi Trieste-ben bemutatott Nabucco-produkciójával vette kezdetét nemzetközi karrierje.
A nyár a slágerekről is szól, ez az est pedig ebből a szempontból valódi best of válogatás. A zeneszerzők legkedveltebb műveikből gyakran készítettek szviteket, amelyek éppen úgy működtek, mint a későbbi korok válogatásalbumai: a legemlékezetesebb dallamokat gyűjtötték egyetlen zenei ívbe. A Summer Suites koncerten a Carmen, a Peer Gynt és a Szentivánéji álom legismertebb és legszeretettebb részletei csendülnek fel a Várkert Bazár különleges nyári atmoszférájában, egy könnyed, mégis tartalmas estén.
