Pitch Black River is the first collaborative work by Máté Mészáros, Patrik Keresztes, and András Szombathy, which originated from the improvisational series The Tip of the Iceberg but quickly evolved into an independent project. The three artists’ collaborative work is constantly evolving, raising new questions along the way.
Twilight and darkness define the performance as an aesthetic foundation, evoking an uncertain, transitional state. The video projection is not merely a visual element but also a tool for altering perception, compelling the viewer to continually reinterpret what they see. The production operates in the borderlands of genres: it is not built on traditional dramaturgy but offers an open, highly emotional experience that demands a playful, engaged audience presence.
