Beethoven did not spoil flute players with many chamber music compositions, and his grand ‘Serenade for Flute, Violin and Viola in D Major’, completed in 1801, is one of such rare exceptions. In addition, this concert will also feature rarities such as a sonata by a French composer and cello virtuoso contemporary of Haydn, Dvorák’s trio for two violins and viola, and Puccini’s ‘Chrysanthemums’ for string quartet.
